“SATARA HILL CYCLOTHON”, a cycling pro-race will be passing through the most beautiful and scenic mountain ranges of the western Maharashtra, making its way through the top of Sahyadri hills passing through the Western Ghats, Plain plateus, small villages surrounded by tress at many places and a wide open sky at most of the places giving you a 360 degree view of the horizon whenever you look around. The total distance covered by the race would be around 55 Kilometres and you will cycle through the most alluring “Kaas Pathar” which is valley full of flowers, a plateau at an altitude of 1200 metres above sea level, which became the part of  the “UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site in 2012” 

Lovely nature itself acts as a motivation and it will be available in abundance throughout the ride, giving you sense of respite and a soothing experience which will surely drive you to come back every year to relieve these epic moments in our very own “Satara-A True Heaven on Earth”. “Let’s Meet on KATTA”….. most soothing words for a group of like-minded people who want to freshup their minds. Let’s meet at the “KATTA” has become our tag line and our journey began from these small meets at “THE KATTA”.

We are a group of highly qualified professionals, the young blood of Satara who came together and formed this group. We have been successfully conducting various cultural, social as well as entertainment programs to promote and motivate sports enthusiasts, artists, actors through various competitions such as dance, drama, etc. We have also organized various Health checkup camps, Blood donation camps, Eye checkup camps, Tree plantation, Pani Foundation, Swach abhiyan in shahupuri, Adhar card camp and much more in order to spread social as well as cultural awareness all around Satara for over seven years. We also found success in organizing an open stage famous drama “HasvaFasvi” of comedy genre having Shri Pushkar Shrotri as a lead actor in it.

Our biggest achievement came in 2016, with the help of enthusiast people of Satara we took a giant leap and organized a two days state level dance competition which was categorized on the historic Gandhi Maidan in two categories i.e. Western and folk style. This resulted into increased expectations of the people of Satara and we felt motivated enough to fulfill them. Celebrity Ms. Meera Joshi, famous dancer and actress, fairly judged the program.

In 2016, we organized a famous comedy television show “Comedy Chi Bullet Train” on live stage. Mr. Sachin Mote, a Satarkar who is the producer and writer of Wet Cloud Productions guided us throughout the program. Initially we faced some technical difficulties which was bound to happen as organizing such a big event including 22 celebrity actors and technical staff of 120 people working back stage which was not an easy task. But being in the land of Maratha Kingdom and with the blessings of people of Satara, we did it successfully. It was attended by an audience of almost 5000 people who fully enjoyed the program.

From 2016, we have started presenting “Young Inspiration Awards” to the deserving candidates who prove out to be an inspiration to the society in the field of Sports, Education, social, cultural and Industrial activities. These awards are given considering the exceptional achievements made by people in Satara district. Some of the awarded candidates includes Dr. Avinash Pol (Social), Lalita Babar (Sports - Runner), Hanmantrao Gaikwad (BVG founder), Sachin Mote (Entertainment), Sarang Patil (Education), Srikant Pawar (Industrialist), and many other achievers from various sectors of the society.

In 2017, we established “Young Inspiration Charitable Society” with the valuable support of Mr. Mangesh Jadhav (President of Builders Association of India, Satara branch), Mr. Pravin Patil (President of Medical Association), Mr. Sachin Deshmukh (Vice President of Maharashtra Badminton Association), CA Prafull Shaha (Practicing Chartered Accountant), Dr. Tushar Pisal (Doctor), Adv Sunil Gambare (Advocate), Adv. Ravindra Kshirsagar (Advocate) and Mr. Mandar Pore (Businessman).

Keeping in view the positive effects of our past events, this time we thought to promote “Cycling” as a first step towards “Green Earth”. So hereby we are launching a Mega Cycling Event on the 28th of January 2018, a State-Level Pro-Race, named as “Satara Hill Cyclothon”. The them idea behind organizing this event is to create awareness in the minds of people, especially the young generation, that the future of our country is in making them realize the importance of cycling, its positive impact on the environment which will help in making the world a better place to live by passing on the baton to the future generations.

Satara, replica of a “true heaven on earth”, deriving its name from the seven mountains meaning “Saat” and “Tara”. Satara is a very beautiful city surrounded by nature, settled in the laps of mountains making it a beautiful illustration of scenic beauty. Satara is considered as the erstwhile capital of Maratha Kingdom, led by our own legendary king “Shrimant Chattrapati Shivajiraje Bhosale", the only king who could not be won over by any enemy.
